Ever since the hand-on-the-Bible swearing in ceremonies, Bush and Cheney have operated behind closed doors, allowing only a minimum of information available to the public. Much of the information has been controlled and spun. Examples of this abound. Yesterday's revelation of Vice President Cheney's order to destroy the records of the Secret Service highlighted the secrecy policy.
The vaunted Freedom of Information Act has provided tons of inside information to professional and amateur reporters. But this administration has learned how to shun, delay and obstruct the process.
"What are they hiding?" is a familiar refrain in Washington these days.

* The public is invited to join the committee to bar southern governors from the presidency. NMSG - No More Southern Governors - intends to push for a constitutional amendment. They point to Carter, Clinton and Bush as enough evidence to support their cause.
* The meeting scheduled for tonight to stop the meridians on St. George Boulevard is cancelled.
